Tottenham Hotspur join Liverpool and Arsenal as interest increases for Bundesliga misfit

Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as likely candidates for Bundesliga playmaker Diego with the Brazilian likely to be sold on this summer due to his current issues with club Wolfsburg.

The midfielder has once again been fined for his behaviour, this time walking out of the team hotel for not being picked for the clubs last game of the season. Although discussions between Diego and the management are to be held it is likely that he shall be offloaded for a cut price £5m this summer.

The price has alerted the liked of Liverpool and Arsenal, however Tottenham Hotspur would also be interested in the bargain playmaker and back up in the role Rafael van der Vaart is required with the Dutchman’s fitness a big question. Tottenham have confirmed that they will need to sell before they can buy this summer and with players such as Robbie Keane and Wilson Palacios likely to be on their way out, that will raise more than enough than the £5m Wolfsburg are looking for.

The player is one of those that is not out of control but simply has had a rough time of late and it is believed that a new location and a new challenge for the 26 year old could well be tempting despite admitting recently that he may choose to stay in Germany. Olympiacos are also said to be interested in his services.
